Family Reflections:
Love how many people give a "wave of thanks" like I do when driving...everyone!
Is it a rock or a sheep?
At the roundabouts, go left (the hardest thing to remember when driving).
Just so many nice people.
10 out of 10, would visit again!
Dublin for a day and some needed ZZZs!
The airport...exhausted, so everyone caffeinated before leaving!
Ha'Penny Bridge
We found a free toilet...what?!? Apparently the lack of loos are hated by the locals too!
The Temple Bar
St. Patrick's Cathedral - Amazing grounds, and a playground to boot!
Amari found the door made for her.
Dublin Castle
A much deserved beverage break!
West Coast of Ireland (Galway & Our Home in Kilcolgan)
Galway Cathedral - Peaceful stroll through this immaculate and inspiring cathedral. Gigantic mosaics, a huge pipe organ, stained glass, and this eye-catching blue dome.
Kids were inspired to light a candle as we wished for and sent safe travel vibes into the universe.
And then we were graced by a pair of swans...twice. Amari was beside herself!
Donkeys (Lily and Rose) and chickens at our home away from home!
Irish Cheddar!!!
Above is the short walk to the coast from our home.
Also around the corner from The Tyrone House, the now dilapidated property of a prominent family here.
And yes, lots of one lane roads to navigate around blind corners. Fun!
West Coast of Ireland (The Burren)
Some narrow roads made for some sudden stops! People are very good drivers here...and it wasn't too long before driving on the left was less brain power.
An incredible day at one of my bucket list items...The Cliffs of Moher! The sun and clouds played tag, with some sprinkles here and there, making it a true Irish experience.
Poulnabrone Dolmen - An amazing, peaceful place knowing people were in this same space in 4200 BC - 2900 BC.
The eroded limestone makes for an incredible view, with so much alive in between the cracks!
West Coast of Ireland (Connemara)
Amari's highlight today...feeding the sheep!
Miss ewe already! I might have gotten a bright green sweater covered in sheep today. :)
Sheep galore! But they seem to know how to walk on the side of the road. Might be smarter than some humans?
For real, we started joking if things on the hills were sheep or rocks. We weren't always right!
Kylemore Abbey was my favorite from the day. Jaw-droppingly picturesque! The original Henry family owners did amazing things here for both people and ingenuity, then a Duke messed it up, but then it became run by benedictine nuns (and a girl's school until 2010).
Connemara Ponies!
Stump Party
Even with a bit of rain, this walled garden, and it's historical remnants, were majestic!
Perry Pickles is an abbey resident here too.
Making our wishes at The Ironing Stone (thrown to the abbey by the giant Fionn McCool...a local legend/myth).
